Garvald Edinburgh’s new Midlothian Day Service at Mayfield House, McSence Business Enterprise Park, was officially opened last week.

The ribbon was cut by resident John-Paul Murphy, pictured centre alongside day service manager Swan Siebke and director Mike Casey.

John-Paul said “I was excited! A lot of people were there.” Mayfield House opened in 2014 to meet growing demand in Midlothian, and offers users new skills in five-day workshops: Jewellery, Textiles, Pottery, the Kitchen and the Garden Group. The charity has been established in Edinburgh for more than 30 years, providing supported living and creative day services for adults with learning disabilities.
