Gorebridge Community Council is inviting local people and organisations to their next meeting to bring cohesion to efforts to improve the town.
The meeting at Gorebridge Primary School next Tuesday from 7-9pm will see a presentation from Jane Burridge of Gorebridge Community Development Trust, the group behind the soon to be completed Gorebridge Beacon community hub.
Gorebridge Community Council secretary Cath McGill said: “Here is an opportunity to ask any questions people have got about the hub.
“And if any of the local groups have got projects they are working on I want them to come along, because there are funding streams they might not know about it which we can help them with.
“It’s vital that we work together. There are so many groups in Gorebridge all trying to achieve the same thing.
“I think people believe the community council, trust and Gorebridge Cares are the same thing ,but we’re not.
“So it would be good to bring us all together to make a difference. It would mean we could achieve what we want for Gorebridge quicker and better.
“And if people had more of an idea of the various things going on, say through our Facebook page, they might be more inclined to get involved.
“We want to start the year on a positive note and make things happen.”
Cath urged interested parties to check out her group’s Facebook page and website.
