CYCLISTS using a major Midlothian road are facing increasing danger, it is claimed.

Dave Stokes, a former community councillor in Roslin, has accused Midlothian Council of failing to maintain and improve the A701 for cycling, particularly the section between Loanhead and Roslin.

He said the local authority had failed to take account of cyclists’ interests following the realignment of bus lanes in the area and needed to do more to make the road cycle-friendly.
