CYCLISTS are taking advantage of a scheme to improve their bike security.

Community police officers in Midlothian recently gave bike users the chance to register their cycle online with a Bike Passport and have their equipment marked.

Both measures help trace an owner if a cycle is stolen – and discourage thieves.
