James Farrer and Tom Edwards have two reasons for undertaking the 26-mile challenge – to get fit and raise vital funds for the Sick Kids Friends Foundation.
James (24), from McNeill Place, Loanhead, felt he needed to do more with his life: “I was getting fed up of doing the same old things young people do – socialising at weekends, getting drunk. It wasn’t purposeful and it wasn’t helping anybody. I decided it was time to do something.”
Tom (24), who is originally from Bonnyrigg, said: “I needed to stop smoking, cut down my drinking and needed to lose weight. It is a good challenge, and we will be raising money for the Sick Kids.”
