People in Midlothian are being urged to pick up their free tickets for this year’s Midfest Family Fun Day before they are all gone.

The council-run Midlothian arts festival starts on September 6 with an all-day music festival at Dalkeith Country Park and features a week of events across Midlothian.

Thanks to funding from Homecoming Scotland, the Midfest Family Fun Day is due to take place on Sunday, September 7, 11.30am to 6.30pm, at Dalkeith Country Park.

From local bands and children’s entertainers to arts and crafts, food stall and a funfair – there’s certainly a lot to pack into a fun-filled day out.

The free tickets are available on the Eventbrite website or at any Midlothian library or leisure centre.

Councillor Bob Constable (SNP), cabinet member for arts and creativity, said: “We are delighted to have received funding from Homecoming Scotland for this event.

“It’s certainly going to be a great day out for all age groups. The free tickets are going fast, so I would urge people to grab a ticket while they can.”
