Volunteer Centre Midlothian (VCM) has vacancies for board members and is asking Advertiser readers to step up to the plate.
Alison Rae, Volunteering Development Manager, said: “If you are passionate about the important contribution that volunteers can make to their local communities, and the potential of volunteering to empower individuals to develop new skills and achieve their own goals, then we want to hear from you.
“We are particularly interested to hear from people who have a background in HR, finance, law, marketing or income generation or who are themselves volunteers.”
The role would involve attending six early-evening meetings per year.
Successful applicants might also be asked to attend occasional sub-group meetings or training sessions.
As part of the board of management their role would be to oversee the smooth running of the organisation with other trustees.
Trustees operate at a strategic level, and VCM is looking for people who will contribute to the group, put forward their suggestions and carry out agreed action points.
