A LEADING Midlothian biotech centre has been given a £23 million research boost.

The Roslin Institute, at the University of Edinburgh, is receiving the award from the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) to improve animal health and welfare and enhance productivity in the livestock sector.

The funding from the UK’s leading bioscience agency will facilitate research in the animal sciences sector over the next five years.
