Volunteer Midlothian is the lead agency for volunteering in Midlothian. We provide information and advice to local people who want to volunteer and help match them with opportunities that suit their skills and interests. We also work closely with local organisations to ensure that volunteers get the best We are hosting a Volunteer Recruitment Fair on Thursday, March 17 from noon-2pm at the Lasswade Centre, Bonnyrigg. Fifteen local organisations will be there to promote their opportunities and chat to interested volunteers.
Organisations represented include RNIB Scotland, Rosewell Development Trust, Re:Discover Midlothian, Plusone Mentoring Programme, Home Link Family Support, Marie Curie and many more! Our staff will also be on hand to answer any questions and offer advice on what volunteering opportunity might suit you best. Come along, have some tea and cake and meet some fantastic local organisations.
We are also hosting our annual Volunteers’ Week awards ceremony on Thursday, June 2 to celebrate volunteers in Midlothian. Volunteers’ Week is an annual celebration of the fantastic contribution millions of volunteers make across the UK and this year it is even longer, running from June 1-12.
Our awards ceremony will take place at Newbattle Abbey College and will recognise the dedication and commitment of local volunteers and volunteer managers.
We are inviting organisations to nominate individuals or teams of volunteers who have demonstrated an outstanding contribution under a variety of award categories. We are also encouraging local volunteers to nominate your volunteer manager for an award.
