METAL thieves have targeted buildings and yards in Midlothian.

Copper cabling worth £15,000 was stolen from Temple Quarry, North Middleton, between April 6-10.

The former SQA building in Ironmills Road, Dalkeith, was broken into during daylight hours on April 22 and copper piping was taken.

Later that evening, lead flashing was stolen from newly-built houses at The Scholars, Lauder Road, Dalkeith. Police enquiries on all thefts are ongoing.
