Photographs of Midlothian over a hundred years ago are puzzling local historians.

The subjects of several glass plates, in the care of the Midlothian Local Studies and Archive Service in Loanhead, are believed to show scenes from the Roslin or Howgate area around 1910.

They come from a collection of photographs and photographic glass plates named after the Bryce family of Roslin.
