Midlothian patrols protect sheep

A POLICE protection programme is helping to maintain sheep and lamb stocks on Midlothian hill farms.

Early last year, police were alerted by Pentland farmers reporting their young lambs being killed or injured in attacks by dogs during the lambing season.

Two seasonal initiatives, supported by Pentland Hills Ranger Service, have recorded no dog attacks.
