Dalhousie Castle near Bonnyrigg has named a suite in the hotel after its longest serving member of staff.

Pipe Sergeant and Castle Steward Andrew Sharp has been associated with Dalhousie for more than 30 years.

The Easthouses man, a former head traffic warden for Edinburgh City Police, started in 1982 and has continued to officiate at special occasions.

As the room naming was conducted on St Andrew’s Day, he said: “Dalhousie is a magical place. During the years I have piped for thousands of brides and met many celebrities, however for me personally, today will become one of my most memorable milestones.”
