Midlothian police chief sets priorities

COMMUNITY policing and a commitment to reducing crime are the twin targets for Midlothian’s new head of police.

Chief Superintendent Jeanette McDiarmid was speaking as she prepares to lead J Division of Police Scotland, the single structure that is absorbing the role carried out by eight regional forces.
