The varied flora and fauna at the Midlothian-based Edinburgh Technopole inspired photographers to take some striking images.

Throughout the summer, photographers across the county have had the chance to win a top prize worth £250.

Run in partnership with The Advertiser, the competition was run exclusively through social media platform Twitter.

Overall victor and top prize winner was Rob Ruddin with his entries entitled “Small Heath” and “Yellow Tip Butterfly”. The judges liked both entries so elected to award both the prize for best photo.
