Midlothian dog lovers have dug deep to support a canine charity.

Members of the Midlothian Ringcraft Class, which is based at Ladywood Leisure Centre, Penicuik, held a prize draw, raising £1000 for Hounds for Heroes.

Trainers Andrea Currie and Barbara Allison presented the cheque to Warrant Office Class 2 Simon Thompson MC, The Rifles, who attended with his Golden Retriever Poppy, above.

Hounds for Heroes provides specially trained assistance dogs to injured and disabled men and women of both the Armed Forces and civilian emergency services.
