A GET-TOGETHER of friends in Midlothian has sparked a major fund-raising effort for a charity helping disadvantaged people in Africa.

A group of women associated with the Rotary Club of Penicuik has raised more than £500 for “500 miles”, which helps amputees and disabled people in Malawi, Zambia and Zanzibar.
