Loanhead swimmer Scott Quin is determined to make up for lost time after being named in Team GB for August’s Paralympics in Rio.
Quin (25), will compete in the 200 metres breaststroke in Brazil, after narrowly missing out on a London 2012 spot.
He said: “My coach Chris [Gilchrist] has pushed me so much over the last four years and Rio has always been my aim after missing out on London. I hit the qualifying time at the trials last month so that gave me the confidence to think I had a real chance of making the team.
“But you can’t write off anyone when I go over there. I’m just going to keep my head down between now and then and ensure I’m doing everything right to prepare.
“It would be nice to get any medal at the Paralympics.”
