CARERS in Midlothian are being offered extra support.

Midlothian Council is launching Midlothian’s Carers Strategy 2012-15 during the national campaign, Carers Week (June 18-24).

The strategy is backed by local carer Sheila Black, who looks after her husband, Alastair (both pictured).

Sheila, from Easthouses, said: “A lot of carers, through either lack of support or not being aware of support available, can get pulled down into depression.”
