Edinburgh weekend weather: This is what the weather is going to be like in the Capital on the first weekend pubs are open

There is good news and bad news for local residents and visitors to the Capital excited for that first pint in a beer garden.

On Saturday, the weather starts of bright and sunny, if a bit cold, but the chance of rain increases as the day goes on, with a 40% chance of precipitation at around 7pm.

The temperature will reach a high of a positively roasting 9C, but the Met Office warn it will feel more like 7C.

Sunday will also start with a touch of sun, but a 30% chance of rain in the early afternoon.

It will remain cloudy for the rest of the day, with a 20% chance of rain until the late evening.

The temperature will be ever so slightly higher than Saturday, with highs of 10C, though it will feel more like 8C.

A statement from the Met Office confirms: “The rather cold, bright and showery weather will continue through Saturday and Sunday with overnight frosts.

"Heavy rain spreading east on Monday.”

Scottish Government guidelines allow alcohol to be served in outdoor areas only with up to six people from six households able to meet up outside.

Non essential shops have reopened, along with museums, libraries and galleries.

Social distancing measures will be in place along with hand sanitising stations and masks will be essential, unless you are exempt.
