MSP in Midlothian roads plea

ROAD projects in Midlothian could get underway now if the UK Government approved funding plans, an MSP claims.

Alex Neil, the Scottish Government’s Cabinet Secretary for Infrastructure and Capital Investment, wants Westminster to sanction 36 “shovel ready” schemes across Scotland.

The list includes £6 million for the A68 Pathhead to Tynehead junction road widening, designed to improve overtaking opportunities.
