A Bill, seeking to extend the boundary of the Pentland Hills Regional Park, has been formally launched by Midlothian MSP Christine Grahame.

The Midlothian South MSP believes her Member’s Bill, which will now progress through the Scottish Parliament, will allow more people to use the park and provide the region with more protection.

Ms Grahame (SNP) wants to see the boundary extended in the south west to take in 100 per cent of the Pentland Hills rather than just the existing 45 per cent.

At the launch at Flotterstone, Ms Grahame said: “I believe it is essential to ensure that the whole Pentlands range is given the same kind of protection that the existing regional park.”
