Biffy Clyro - Opposites

Opposites is the epic follow-up to Biffy Clyro’s 2009 release Only Revolutions. The 20-track double-CD monster opens with three huge songs. The rest of the album is a collection of great tunes in what has become a signature style for the Scottish rock trio. Despite the title, Opposites doesn’t quite have the radical halves one might expect but each disc does have a clear theme: the first, bleak and intense, while the second is much more positive and light. Opposites is perhaps a bit disappointing for fans who enjoyed their earlier heavier style as those metal influences are nowhere to be seen here.

Andrea Bocelli - Passione

Getting us all in the mood for Valentine’s Day is Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli, who has released a collection of love songs featuring duets with Jennifer Lopez, Nelly Furtado and a virtual duet with Edith Piaf on her hit La Vie En Rose. His 23rd solo release sees the blind 54-year-old sing in six languages, including Italian, English, French, Spanish, Portuguese and Neapolitan.
