GUITAR sounds from Spanish to plectrum steel-string will feature in the second week of the Dalkeith Performing Arts Festival.
Some of the music featuring in this, the second year of the arts festival, is to be provided by joint organiser Brian McGrail, who will play a variety from Spanish and Latin American dances of soledad, tango and bossa nova to the acoustic Delta blues, Country Twang and Chord Melody Jazz together with classics by Bach, Sor and Mertz.
Last year’s festival in Dalkeith Palace was opened by Brian and this year he is looking forward to performing at the festival’s new home at St Mary’s Church.
Mr McGrail, a mainly self-taught musician said: “Hopefully it will feel like a mini tour on the guitar – the musical equivalent of tapas.”
The concert will take place on Wednesday, June 20, at 7.15pm at St Mary’s Church in the Park on the east end of Dalkeith High Street.
