The official opening of the new children’s nursery school at Cornbank St James Primary, Penicuik, took place last week with some of the youngsters cutting the ribbon to mark the occasion.
The nursery is in a new extension and has capacity for 50 pupils in morning and 50 in afternoon. The previous roll was 20/20 and the number of children attending is already rising. An outdoor play area will be completed when the weather improves.
Head teacher Susan Bowen said she was delighted with the new extension: “It’s been a lot of hard work – we’ve had to move twice – but definitely well worth it. It looks fantastic and the parents were very impressed.”
