A Newtongrange actor’s award-winning BBC comedy pilot has been granted a six-part series to be shown across the UK.
Jimmy Chisholm (58) starred as mountain rescue volunteer Jimmy Miller in Comedy Playhouse’s ‘Miller’s Mountain’ last year, which went on to pick up a Scottish BAFTA for best comedy.
Chisholm will soon begin work on a six-part series of the show, which has been renamed ‘Mountain Goats’.
The former Take the High Road star told the Advertiser more about the show.
He said: “I’m over the moon – it’s going out on BBC 1 all over Britain. BBC London apparently loved it.
“We start filming in March. I think they are planning to put it out in October this year, with a 10.30pm slot.
“We got together to do a sort of stage version of it two years ago then made the pilot last year, so we have been together for a while now. Everyone gets on really well with everyone else. It’s a great job. I can’t wait.
“We start the read through and things in the next few weeks. So that’s me working until June on this.”
