We might as well continue dreaming of a white Christmas because it doesn’t look like it will happen in Midlothian this year.
Yellow Met Office warnings are in place today (Tuesday) for gale-force winds and snow. Midlothian Council has confirmed that the gritters are out.
Gusts of up to 75mph are expected. Bands of wintry showers will travel eastwards with the potential for snow on higher ground.
Christmas Day is expected to be sunny but cold. It will still be blowy.
Sunny and cold is the forecast for Boxing Day. The wind will have dropped considerably during the day but will pick up as night-time approaches.
Another Met Office warning is in place for heavy rain between 12.05am and 6pm on Friday, December 27.
Those with travel plans should keep an eye on updates.
