A Lasswade mum has struck gold in a recent Bank of Scotland competition.

Lorna Rose was the winner of two tickets to the London 2012 Olympics after taking part in an online quiz.

Lorna, a nurse at Gorebridge Medical Centre, collected her tickets from Loanhead branch manager Farah Chaudhri. The Lloyds Banking Group is one of the partners for the summer sporting spectacle.

Farah said: “Lorna is the only winner in our area and the only one in the Scotland East region. We are ecstatic.”

Lorna plans to attend the Games with her youngest son Iain (15), a swimmer with the Edinburgh Warrender Baths Club.
