A Gorebridge woman and her dog have completed a sponsored walk in Northumberland to benefit survivors of the Bosnian war.

Sue Green and her dog Cal took on a special sponsored walk up the 815 metre high Cheviot in Northumberland along with friends and supporters on May 18.

What was special about this walk is that the sponsorship money raised will be used to send Midlothian Bowen Therapist Mary Macfarlane to Sarajevo for two weeks with the Healing Hands Network to work with survivors of the Bosnian war.

Sue said: “ I am very keen to support Mary in her endeavour to work with survivors in Bosnia.

“Having experienced first hand the benefits of her skills as a Bowen Therapist [which uses muscle manipulation to manage pain], I think it is marvellous that she is using her skills to help people injured and traumatised by war.”
