Royal Bank of Scotland customers in Pathhead will soon have to travel to Dalkeith after it was announced that their local branch is to close.
The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) say that the number of customers using the branch had fallen by nearly 30 per cent since 2011 and that they now have just 16 regular customers.
The branch, which was only open for seven and a half hours a week, will close on June 18.
Colin Beattie, MSP for Midlothian North, expressed his regret at the news.
Mr Beattie said:“I have great sympathy with the Pathhead community over the closure of this branch of RBS. Pathhead is quite a rural community.”
