This week’s featured cats are Preston and Roslyn (pictured).

The black and white moggies arrived at the shelter as a pair around six months ago after their previous owner moved and couldn’t take them.

Extrovert Preston is the more outgoing of the two, although Roslyn is very friendly once she gets to know you. Staff at Lothian Cat Rescue believe they will make lovely pets once they are settled in a home, as they both have a lot of love to give to someone.

Meanwhile, Staff at the shelter are keen to thank everyone who helped raise £2,350 during an open day last Sunday. Hundreds visited the cat rescue centre premises at Cockpen Road in Bonnyrigg where stalls where on show.

Other entertainment on the day included competitions, a tombola and raffle.

The cash will be used to fund the ongoing care of cats.

A member of staff said: “Thankfully the weather was much kinder to us than the last time.

“Lots of people came to support us by having tea, coffee and cakes with their friends, buying raffle tickets and browsing through all the goods on sale. Many thanks to all the volunteers who came to support us on our open day.”
