A grateful Penicuik family is spearheading a campaign to raise money for the hospital that keeps their daughter alive.
Aine McDermott has a rare condition which affects her central nervous system, causing her to stop breathing while she is sleeping.
The plucky five-year-old suffers from Congenital Central Hypoventilation Syndrome.
The life-threatening condition means that she has to spend every night wearing an oxygen mask and being monitored closely at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Edinburgh.
