A Penicuik couple recently trekked through the Scottish Highlands to raise vital funds to support Forces veterans and their families.
Andrew Macfarlane and his wife Elizabeth were part of the family Team Mac, which raised £1,550 for veterans’ charity Poppyscotland by tackling the Caledonian Challenge.
Andrew, a former serviceman, was also joined by daughter Natalie, who lives in Manchester, and his sister Janet from Hawick.
The Macfarlanes made it to 30 miles before having to pull out through injury.
However, Janet and Natalie went on to complete the 24-hour hiking challenge.
