St Mungo’s Parish Church in Penicuik is still looking to attract a minister – almost 18 months after Rev Geoff Berry left to join the Army.

The congregation had hoped to call a new minister in April but this did not receive the backing of Lothian Presbytery.
In the meantime, St Mungo’s is to appoint an interim minister, who will be provided by the central office of the Church of Scotland.

An interim moderator, Rev Sandy Horsburgh, from St Nicholas Buccleuch Church, Dalkeith, has also been appointed by presbytery.
St Mungo’s is to follow a presbytery instruction, made in 2008, to put the manse in Kirkhill Road up for sale.
