A Penicuik school has scooped top prize in a cycling competition.
P6 pupils at Mauricewood Primary School tasted success as part of Cycling Scotland’s Give Me Cycle Space Campaign.
Schools in 14 local authorities were invited to record the number of pupils in P5, P6 or P7 who cycled to school in the week beginning May 6.
With 65 per cent of Mrs Bauld’s P6 pupils getting on their bike, Mauricewood was the clear winner.
Mr Dougal’s P7 class at Burnbrae Primary in Bonnyrigg took third place, with 61 per cent of pupils cycling to school.
Mauricewood’s prize is a class trip to Glentress outdoor cycling centre near Peebles, funded and organised by Cycling Scotland.
