PLANS to investigate a railway link to Penicuik are back on track.
Midlothian Council has asked Heriot-Watt University to carry out a desk-top study of a proposed route.
The rail link will also be considered in the consultation process for the Midlothian Local Plan.
In August, councillors were told that the proposed railway line could give a major boost to the Bilston/Loanhead corridor, which houses 30 per cent of Midlothian’s population.
