Pentland Hills’ parking plans rejected

Plans to introduce parking charges at the Pentland Hills have fallen through.

Edinburgh Council has been forced to withdraw proposals for charges at three car parks after failing to calculate VAT in its sums.

The council was looking to implement a £2 charge at the Threipmuir, Bonaly and Harlaw car parks following a year of planning.

As reported earlier this year, the city authority had expected Midlothian Council to implement charges at its Flotterstone car park.

However, Midlothian has rejected the plan to introduce charges on health and safety grounds.
