Midlothian South MSP Christine Grahame is to press ahead with a Bill to extend the boundaries of the Pentland Hills Regional Park.

The SNP politician has lodged her final proposal for a Members’ Bill, which aims to allow the park boundary to be extended to cover the entire Pentlands range.

Ms Grahame received 65 responses to her consultation exercise from charities, public and private organisations and individuals.

A slim majority (51 per cent) supported the plans but 40 per cent - mostly individuals - opposed any changes.

The wording of the Members’ Bill means the support of at least 18 MSPs is required from across the Scottish Parliament.
