A public consultation has begun on plans to create 700 homes, community facilities and a new primary school near Gorebridge.
EMA Architecture has applied for pre-application consultation and a public exhibition at Gorebridge Library, which started on Tuesday and runs until April 22. It will give people the chance to see the plans for the development at Redheugh for themselves.
Sarah Halford is part of the EMA Architecture design team behind the plans.
She said: “This development will tie in with another future proposal which adjoins the site. This application is an L shape and the other commercial development with business use would fill the full shape.
“As well as bringing a lot of new homes we have got a strong parkland element to it with lots of greenspace retained within the site.
“The plans will be on our website (redheugh-gorebridge.co.uk) for everyone to see.”
