Police allay fears after attempted abduction claim

Police have allayed fears following reports of an attempted abduction in Bonnyrigg on Saturday, confirming that there is “no risk to the public”.

Officers investigated claims that a man and woman tried to entice a six-year-old boy into a car at Moorfoot View at around 1pm.

A police spokesman told the Advertiser today (November 19): “We investigated a complaint received over the weekend to ascertain if any criminality was involved. There is no risk to the public.”
