Police Scotland is appealing for witnesses following an indecent exposure in Penicuik.

The incident happened between 12.30pm and 12.50pm on Monday, September 2.

A man was walking with his young daughter in the wooded area between Queensway and Cuiken Terrace when a male approached them.

The male exposed himself before making off from the area.

Detective Inspector Raymond Brown said: “Thankfully incidents like this are extremely rare and extra patrols are in the area.

“Enquiries are ongoing to identify the male responsible and we ask that anyone who has information that can help trace him contacts police immediately.

“Similarly, anyone who remembers seeing anything suspicious in the area around Queensway and Cuiken Terrace on Monday afternoon is also asked to get in touch.”

The suspect is described as white, 45 to 55-years-old, average height with a chubby build, dirty grey straggly hair, and a pale complexion. He was wearing a dark green, waist-length, Barbour-style jacket and dark black jeans.
