Police probe Mid and East Lothian break-ins

Police are appealing for witnesses following a number of break-ins to commercial properties over the weekend.

The incidents happened between Sunday evening and early the next day.

The properties targeted were the Levenhall Arms and the Riverside Bar in Musselburgh, the Cockatoo Restaurant in Millerhill and the Berwick Fry in North Berwick.

A dark-coloured car, which may be connected to the break-ins, was seen near to The Cockatoo Restaurant around 4.30am on Monday.

Officers are now urging anyone who can assist with their enquiries to come forward.

Detective Constable Brian O’ Neill said; “We are appealing for any further information on this vehicle and its occupants.

“Similarly any other witnesses who saw anything suspicious in the area asked to contact Police immediately.

“Anyone with information can contact Police Scotland on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
