Police warn of bogus callers in Midlothian

Police are investigating two bogus caller incidents in Midlothian on Monday.

In the first, which happened around 11.20am at a property in Gordon Avenue, Bonnyrigg, a man called at the address to offer gardening work.

He managed to gain entry to the house, and stole a handbag, which contained cash, bank cards and jewellery. The man is described as white, 6ft tall, late 30s to early 40s, medium build.

He was wearing a grey hooded top, jeans and white trainers.

The other incident happened around 2.15pm at an address in Carlops Road, Penicuik.
