Plans for a new community hub in Woodburn are back on track after a legal wrangle led to a hiatus in the project.

Since the council engaged social enterprise organisation ‘Community Enterprise’ in March, this year matters have started to move forward. A survey took place to find out what the community needed and a public meeting was held. One application for funding has been submitted with more expected to follow.

Councillor Derek Rosie (SNP) said: “I welcome the progress made and I think we have got to emphasis that the council are fully supportive of a hub in Woodburn.”

Councillor Margot Russell (Lab) added: “We are on the last lap now I would suggest. I know people will get behind the project now they can see the commitment is there.”
