Newtongrange Scout Group has enjoyed a productive summer and is looking forward to continued improvements to their hall on Park Road.
Since the start of the year the group has received funding from the Borders Railway project allowing the full redecoration of the committee room, including a new carpet from Kristoffersons.
It also received a grant from the Big Lottery Fund, which along with donations from the three local councillors and McNicoll Van Hire, will allow it to replace 15 windows in the hall.
Within the group the Beaver section, for boys and girls aged 6-8, has expanded and now has two groups. Combined with the Cubs, Scouts, Rainbows and Brownies over 100 children use the hall each week.
