PROGRESS is being made on a £2.5 million community facility in Midlothian.

The Gorebridge Hub has now started its production pre-tender stage to appoint building contractors.

In a challenging economic climate, the momentum for the development is testament to the needs of the community and the indefatigable work of Gorebridge Community Development Trust and its chair, Archie Pacey MBE.

Trust manager Dave Thomas said: “At long last the dream has become reality.

“Special thanks to everyone who has supported the project especially the leader of Midlothian Council, Derek Milligan, the director of corporate resources, John Blair, Colin Beattie MSP, Councillor Jim Muirhead, The National Lottery, Tyne Esk LEADER and the Social Investment Fund Scotland.”
