Following on from the success of National Mining Museum Scotland’s pub quiz last December a second event will take place on July 7.

People are invited to get a team together and take part, with proceeds from the event going towards the museum’s Undercroft project.

The arched area underneath the colliery buildings has never been open to the public, and the museum now wants to change that.

Objects from the museum’s collection will be laid out for quiz teams to handle and try to clue together what they are. This, as well as traditional pub quiz rounds, will all be hosted by one of the museum’s ex-miner tour guides.

Teams of four to six people can register now by calling 0131 663 7519. It costs £2 per head to enter which includes a free buffet. A limited bar of wine, beers, ciders and soft drinks will be open for the duration of the evening.
