The Borders Railway project has announced it is partnering with Newtongrange Star FC for 2013.
The partnership will provide Newtongrange Star FC with funds to invest in the development of the club.
It will also allow the project to raise awareness of the Borders Railway, through pitch-side advertising and advertisements in the match-day programmes. Network Rail will also use the Newtongrange Star FC clubhouse for community meetings and events.
Stan Adams, President of Newtongrange Star FC, has welcomed the partnership.
He said: “Newtongrange Star FC is delighted that Borders Railway has made this investment in the development of the club. The Borders Railway will be a huge boost for Newtongrange and will help to make it easier for clubs in the region to travel further afield for matches.
“We look forward to working with Network Rail throughout the season and beyond.”
