Recreating a right royal reminiscence at Rosslyn

Actors Hana MacKenzie and Michael Dallas from the Scottish Youth Theatre National Ensemble were joined by Carol Hardacre, a visitor from Gloucester, to recreate a royal visit to Rosslyn Chapel, exactly 175 years after it took place.

Queen Victoria visited the landmark with Prince Albert on September 14 1842, while staying at Dalkeith Palace, on her first trip to Scotland.

In her diaries, she described the chapel’s architecture as “most beautiful and rich”.
