PENICUIK: Since this year’s principals in Penicuik Huntsman’s festival were installed in their office in June the have been a very busy couple. James Archibald and Fay Sutherland have attended many of the Border festivals.
TEMPLE: A young Temple woman has been recommended for a bravery award after saving a neighbour who was overcome by smoke when fire broke out in his home. Shortly after midnight on July 1, Mary Madsen was alerted by James Mercer, that a candle in his bedroom had set light to one of his bed clothes.
MIDLOTHIAN: Plans for Midlothian’s community hospital were approved by the Scottish office last week as part of the Government’s programme to modernise the NHS in Scotland.
